Frequently Asked Questions

These are most of the frequently asked questions that have come my way since I started this business. If there is something that you are curious about and it is not listed, please do not hesitate to ask!

Q?   What does hosting mean?

A!   Hosting refers to the storage on the internet where your files are placed. I set up each domain with it's own space and ample storage so your site will load quickly. As a bonus, I include a free posting of your website placed in my portfolio and maintain a backup for your entire website.

Q?   Can you design Moving Graphics or Flash Sites?

A!   Yes I can and I have done both. I recommend using Flash or Moving Graphics sparingly to enhance your website but not consume it! Websites that have too many "bells & whistles" will load slower!

Q?   What can you do for my site to be listed on the search engines (Google)?

A!   A good list of descriptive key words related to your business as well as a descriptive statement is coded into your webpages when I design them. These are called meta tags and this is what search engines use to categorize your site.

Q?   What is a Domain?

A!   A Domain is your website address, such as www.webdesignsgalore.biz. Domains can be accessed by a search engine or typing the actual website name into your browser. I can register many domain options for you (yoursite.ca, yoursite.com, yoursite.net, etc).

Q?   How long does it take to set up a website?

A!   There are several factors related to this question! How many pages will the site consists of, the amount of content, whether there is an existing website, and if you have a good idea of what you want. An important factor in getting you online quickly is regular communication between the both of us while the website is being set up.

Q?   Who owns the websites you create?

A!   You as the customer does. When I purchase your domain, your personal or company name is listed as the registered owner. Your logo or other elements you supply, also belong to you. The website "as a whole" is considered my design, but once I am paid in full you retain ownership. If you decide to take over the website maintenance, I ask that you leave my ad on your website to show that I created the design layout.
